This beautiful city is located in the shouthern argentine
province of Chubut, 1436 kilometers from the City of
Buenos Aires and only 25 from the Atlantic Ocean. It
is the most direct access road towards all the principal
Patagonian tourist points. The beauty of its landscapes,
the sight seeing of the whales, pinguinos and toninas
overas, its museums and the practice of an ample variety
of sports, turn this magic city in a place that can
be visited at any time of the year.

Located
in the Inferior Valley of the Chubut River, on the National
Route N° 3, Trelew (in Welsh means Town of Lewis,
in tribute to Lewis Jones, its founder) it arosed before
the necessity of the construction of a railway branch
that allowes the Wales colonos to transfer farming products
from the Inferior Valley of the Chubut River towards
the Atlantic Coast.
In 1886, started the majestic work that didn't take
a long time in generating a great impact on the commercial
activity. That's why, in a short period of time and
thanks to its strategic geographic location the small
town acquired the characteristics of a mighty and modern
city. In 1889 two buildings that still today stay still
on were constructed: the Tabernacl Chapel and the Railway
Station (nowadays the Museum of the City). At present,
it has important terrestrial and aerial routes of access
thanks to its International Airport, the only one qualified
of all the Patagonian Region.
