Located a few minutes from Esquel (a city with a hotel capacity of 1400 beds), the place has 24 interconnected trails by steps and mountain passages. The excellent outside tracks are reserved for the for expert skiers. Its esquiable lenght is of 5,1 kilometers (3,17 miles) with a minimum slope of 10 degrees and a maxima of 60 degrees and its maximum esquiable unevenness is of 2700 meters (8858 feet). It is characterized by the excelent quality of the snow: dry and in dust. Its annual average level is 1.5 meters (4,92 feet) in the base and up to 4 meters (13,12 feet) in the top. Too, it has snow tubes to cover the necessary requirements. La Hoya Activities Mountain Center has nine modern means of elevation, three of which are aereos- chairlifts, four of drag- teleesquies-, 1 T-bar and 1 Poma bambi.

Everything for everybody

Located 1250 meters (4101 feet) above sea level in the base, it offers 150 hectares (370 acres) of esquiable surface to the visitors, with wide trails supported by teams of treads snow and permanently monitored over a body of patrol. The mountain has important areas for the practice of alpine skiing suitable for beginners, outposts, experts and competition level. Although, there is an area for ski mountaineering and snowboard and a circuit for motorcycles of snow. In the middle of this one pleasant activity, the skiers can take a rest in the restaurant "The Stone" in the level 1500 meters (4921 feet), or a warm chocolate or a drink in the "Posada del Sol" inn, located in the level 1.800 meters (5905 feet). In the base of the hill, besides the "PirrŽn-Chay‡" inn, there are a place where tourists can keep the skis and rent ski equipments and snow motorcycles.

The school, also located in the base, offers individual and collective classes; meanwhile, in level 1500 meters (4921 feet), one finds the infantile child-care and a snow garden for children from 3 to 5 years. This center, located at the northwest of Chubut's province, is also known by its long season that begins in July and ends in October, full entered the spring and for the great variety of its trails that turn the place in a perfect ski slope for intermediate skiers and beginners.
