In the middle of an imposing landscape, Cerro Bayo resort offers all the comfort for the skier.
 

This magical village arises just a few kilometers from Villa La Angostura. This resort has full services for tourists. Also, this magnificent winter resort has a complete and modern service of aerial means of elevation: double telesillas, Pomas and a T- bar that transports 4500 skiers by hour.

Cerro Bayo is located in the southern argentina province of Neuquén (1220 kilometers (758 miles) from Buenos Aires), at only nine kilometers (5,60 miles) from Villa La Angostura, on the provincial route 66, at 6 kilometers (3,72 miles) from the national route 231 and at 85 kilometers (52,81 miles) from San Carlos de Bariloche, just an hour from the International Airport of Bariloche.
The hill is surrounded by forests, and has a spectacular view of the Nahuel Huapi lake. This resort offers the appropiate surroundings for beginners and advanced skiers. Cerro Bayo hill has 24 pefectly signalized tracks and 11 means of elevation. An important ski school and an important variety of services; as the restaurants and child-cares, between "Tronador" (in the exit of the beginners track number 1), "Chalten I" (in the base) and " Deck 18 " (close to the track number 18).

 

 

The 24 tracks of the Cerro Bayo hill were built for all the skills of the tourists and conform about 10 linear kilometers (6,21 linear miles) that allow the practice of the ski and snowboard. The esquiable unevenness (not accumulated) is 700 meters (2296 feet) and it is possible to cross uninterrupted approximately 6000 meters (19685 feet) , combining tracks of the T-Bar, the Pomita, the Panoramic Way and the Base roads. The 10 percent of the tracks is destined for beginners, the 40 percent for intermediates, the 35 percent for advanced and the rest for experts. Also, the tourist has the possibility of practice out-of-tracks activities with deep snow, in an area of 200 hectares (494 acres). This region is ideal for those who has an excellent level in the white sport of the snow.

 

 

2002 news

The resort has introduced a lot of new incorporations for this winter season that will extend from Julio 20 th. to August 4th. The first is a telesilla (chairlift) with two seats, that goes from the level 1200 to the level 1500 (in beginners area) allowing a perfect advantage of the Panoramic Way as a beginner track of 2900 meters (9514 feet) of length. The second is a new skis-warehouse of 200 square meters (2152 square feet or 0,049 acre), with sanitary in the level 1500, located at 100 meters (328 feet) from Refugio Tronador (Tronador Refuge). Other new is the refuge called "Casita del Bosque (Little Forest´s house", with capacity for 40 persons, placed at the edge of the track "Beginners 3".

 

 

300 meters (984 feet) of neew "girondas" was built (wood walls destined to accumulate snow by wind drift), thus adding 800 meters (2624 feet) to Track 18, the arrival of the "Main Chair", and "Beginners 1" . Also, it was incorporated a new Kasboher Pisten Bully 200 with the objective to guarantee the correct maintenance of the tracks. Nevertheless, the the most important novelty is the heli-ski, the personal, libertal and until capricious means of elevation able to arrive where the others cannot (always in company of an expert from the ski school)
