In
the town, as its inhabitants continue affectionately
calling it, every time of the year has its own life: the
vertiginous winter of the ski; the withdrawn students
that arrive in May or June; the canes and hooks that arrive
per November; the long and warm days of the summer or
the crowded chocolate factories of Easter mark times and
rates in the life of the settlers, connected through their
rich history.
The tourist zone of the city is developed around the Civic
Center which main commercial arteries are Mitre and Moreno
Streets and their cross-sectional streets. On these roads,
the tourist can find a great number of chocolate´s
factories, shops of sale of weaves, several restaurants,
fast food shops, tourism agencies and a great variety
of spectacles. |

The
Civic Centre
It
is the first constructed in the country and it was inaugurated
on March 17th, 1940. It was made with wood of cypress,
larch and stone tufa extracted from the Carbón
Hill. In the center of the square it is the Monument
to Julio Argentino Roca that was declared National Monument
in 1987. Around the square are located the buildings
of the Police, the ex- Mail (nowadays it is an exhibition
hall), the ex- Customs, the Municipal Tourism Secretary,
the Museum and the Sarmiento Library. In the Tower that
is located on the building of the Municipality there
is an enormous clock in which at 12 o´ clock and
18.00 o ´ clock appear 4 representative figures
of the zone: the Indian, the Missionary, the Conqueror
and the Farmer.

Another
beauty of the place is the Cathedral of Bariloche that
was built in 1946 under the name of Our Lady of the
Nahuel Huapi and that has been declared National Historical
Monument. Every month of December it takes place the
Choral Christmas with the special participation of the
Children Choir and The Singing Young People of Bariloche,
both accompanied by other choral groups and native musicians.

In
